Nicola Sturgeon is expected to announce a five-mile travel ban and close bars and restaurants in Aberdeen at her briefing shortly.

The first minister will take the podium for her daily briefing at 12.15pm.

It is understood a five-mile travel ban could be put in place and all hospitality businesses ordered to shut down.

The restrictions are expected to last a week.

There could also be possible limitations put in place on people meeting.

A source said the restrictions expected were similar to those in force nationally in May.

It comes after a sharp rise in coronavirus cases in the city in the past days, with NHS Grampian last night confirming there were 32.

More follows.
